Dismissal

A verbal warning is the first step in the disciplinary process. Further disregard of policies and/or procedures may lead to a written warning and/or dismissal.

Reasons for dismissal include, but are not limited to:

  • Consistently poor job performance
  • Inadequate job skills
  • Habitual absences
  • Habitual tardiness
  • Altering or manipulating patron records/information
  • Unauthorized or inappropriate use of patron information  
  • Unauthorized or inappropriate use of library materials, supplies, and/or facilities
  • Unauthorized loading/downloading of software onto library computers
  • Displays of racial, ethnic, cultural, or religious intolerance
  • Use of abusive/offensive language

Grounds for immediate dismissal include, but are not limited to:

  • Falsifying time records
  • Theft of library materials, supplies, or equipment
  • Destruction of College property
  • Direct disregard or intentional violation of library or College policies.
  • Insubordination, which includes, but is not limited to, unwillingness to perform assigned duties.
