Frequently Asked Questions

How many items can I check out at a time? 

There is no limit on the number of items you can check out.

 

How long do materials check out for?

Books check out for 30 days with 2 renewals and DVDs check out for 5 days with 2 renewals. Reserve items typically check out for 2 hours and are limited to library use only.

 

How do I place holds, renew materials, or access my NOBLE library account?

Go HERE and enter the number on the back of your MackCard (below the barcode) in the barcode box and click submit. You'll receive an email to complete account set up. If you do not have a MackCard, contact a librarian to set the account up for you. 

 

Where do I check out materials?

You check out materials at the Help Desk on the 1st floor

 

What if McQuade does not have the book or article I need? 

 If we don't have what is needed to support your research, we can interlibrary loan (ILL) materials from other institutions across the country at no charge to you. 

 

How do I get a library card?

Your MackCard acts as your library card, however, if you did not come in to get your MackCard, we still have you in our library system and you are still able to borrow materials. 

 

When and where are librarians available for research assistance? 

Librarians can be found in the Research Center on the 2nd floor of McQuade. Click HERE to schedule an appointment.

Monday-Thursday 9am-10pm

Friday: 9am-5pm

Saturday: 10am-6pm

Sunday: 2pm-10pm

 

Can I access databases off campus?

Yes! Simply log in with your regular Merrimack credentials.
