NOBLE Catalog

NOBLE Catalog

Use the NOBLE Catalog to find books, e-books, dvds, and streaming videos from McQuade, as well as the 26 other libraries in our consortium (NOBLE). If another library has something you want, request it through interlibrary loan (ILL) at no charge and pick it up at the Help Desk on the first floor when it arrives.

Reference Sources

Reference sources are available in general or subject specifics contexts and in print or online formats. You need to evaluate each source and determine which are helpful to you and appropriate for you to use.

Examples:

  • Encyclopedias
  • Dictionaries
  • Almanacs
  • Glossaries
  • Handbooks
  • Atlases
  • Bibliographies
  • Indexes

Reference materials are good starting points for research projects because they can provide:

  • background or introductory information on a topic
  • terminology or additional keywords to use in further searches
  • a bibliography listing other materials on a topic

Online Reference Shelf

Browse the Stacks

The library uses the Library of Congress Classification system. Because books are organized by subject, you can browse the stacks, and find books on the same topic shelved together.

At McQuade, call numbers A-H are located on the 2nd floor. Call numbers J-Z  are located on the lower level.
