In direct support of Merrimack College’s mission, McQuade Library’s Information Literacy program strives to develop lifelong learners who will master information skills that will enrich their academic and personal lives.

Our role as liaisons is to:

• Actively engage with faculty as partners in programmatically integrating information literacy concepts and skills into curriculum
• Create, maintain, and promote subject libguides 
• Deliver and assess effective library workshops/instructional sessions

Instruction takes place in many ways, using a variety of teaching methods, including:

• Course-integrated library instruction sessions
   
• In-person instruction at the reference desk, in librarians’ offices, and at other locations on campus
   
• Reference services through email, phone, and instant message/texting
   
• Individual research advisory appointments
   
• Customized exercises/assignments and tailored research guides
   
• Specialized workshops
   
• Online tutorials and screencasts
   
• Faculty collaboration and consultation

Regardless of the method of delivery, McQuade librarians work with faculty to offer instruction that is tied to research assignments and responds to students’ information needs.
