Streaming Video Collections

How to find and use streaming media for your teaching, learning, and research needs.

Link to Streaming Videos

  1. Go to the library website and click on "Streaming Media" button
  2. Search for streaming collection- click on link.
  3. Click on the title of the video that you want

The library subscribes to multiple streaming video collections. You can find them all under the Databases A-Z button on the library homepage or via "Streaming Media" button on homepage. Each streaming vendor looks a little different, but the linking and embedding features work in a similar way.

Embed "Films on Demand" and "Docuseek" in Canvas

Two of our streaming video databases, Films on Demand & Docuseek now allow embedded videos from within Canvas. This works easiest if you've gone to the database first and found the title of the video you want to use. To use direct linking:

1. Click on the plus sign in your module:

2. Choose External Tool from the dropdown menu and click on Films On Demand:

3. Search for the video title in the Films On Demand interface.  Once you find the title, click on the Embed dropdown menu by the title and choose Record URL, copy the url, and then choose Embed:

4. You will come back to the External Tool listing and can choose Add Item:
