Reference Management

Having trouble keeping track of all your references for that research paper you're writing?

Try using a reference management tool!

Use one of the tools linked below to:

  • Track citations in the required style
  • Build your bibliographies in the appropriate format

**CAUTION: When using any citation builder, you should double-check the results against the style guide or manual. No automated system is perfect, so always carefully examine the citations that are produced before inserting them into a "Works Cited" or "References" page.

Help with Turabian Style

The 7th edition is the most recent version of the Turabian style of writing.  It is based on the Chicago Manual style of writing and offers two styles of writing:

  1. Notes-Bibligraphy system (bibliography style) - commonly used in literature, history, and the arts, and presents bibliographic information in footnotes or endnotes, and usually a bibliography.
  2. Parenthetical citations-Reference list system (reference list style) - more concise, commonly used in the physical, natural, and social sciences, and presents sources briefly cited in parenthesis in the text by the author's last name and date of publication. Full bibliography information is also provided in a reference list.
