Use Quinncia to get your application past ATS: Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) have algorithms that filter out resumes; the O'Brien Center provides access to Quinncia, a tool that can help you format your resume to make it past the algorithms.
Track your applications: Keep track of all the job applications you've sent out in a central location (for example, make a copy of this application tracker spreadsheet from the O'Brien Center). Consider making copies of the job descriptions in case they are removed from the job board or employer's website before you've had a chance to interview.
Prepare: Be prepared for each interview you are offered: take advantage of interview practice sources in this guide, research the company, and consider reaching out to someone you may know in the field (Merrimack alumni, your professor or advisor, or others) for any insights they might have on the position and the field.
Send thank you notes: After an interview, make sure to send a note to the interviewer(s) within twenty-four hours thanking them for their time and reiterating your interest in the position.
