Research and discover biographical resources at McQuade!

Searching McQuade's Library Catalog

Use the catalog to find books, ebooks, audiobooks, and films.

There are many ways to search for books in the Library Catalog. One way is to use the KEYWORD search. Keep these things in mind:

  • Select keywords (generally nouns) that describe your topic
  • Use a connecting word between the keywords. The most common connecting word is AND
  • Put phrases in quotation marks

Here are some examples:

  • Phrase - "Abraham Lincoln"
  • Two Keywords -  Abraham Lincoln AND biography

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loans (ILLs) are loans one library borrows from another library on behalf of a patron.

If you are unable to find the materials you need at the library and/or in the library's electronic databases, then you can make interlibrary loan requests for the materials and arrangements can be made to have those items sent to McQuade Library at no cost to you.

What is NOBLE?

NOBLE is a library consortium of 28 academic and public libraries that share their catalog and resources (with some restrictions).

Merrimack College students, faculty, and staff may request items from any NOBLE library and have them sent to McQuade Library at no charge.  There is no limit to the number of items that can be requested.
