McQuade is a 12-month operation--whether you're on campus or off, we're here to help you get the resources you need.  Stop by to pick up a beach read, or log on from home to access your research materials.  We've had a busy year--take a look below!

A New Way to Access Resources!

You can still use your library barcode on the back of your MACKcard for database logins through the summer, but test your username/password and let us know if you have problems: mcquade@merrimack.edu

New Streaming Video Options

With input from faculty we have made some some changes to our streaming video resources.  As of July 1, 2018 we have access to the following:

 

Health Literacy

Catherine Wong, Liaison Librarian for the School of Health Sciences, took part in a panel discussion at the Fellows Forum at the 2018 Health Literacy Leadership Institute at Tufts University School of Medicine on Health Literacy Partnerships and Collaborations. Catherine spoke about her Plain Language for Health and Medline Plus workshops she developed for students and librarians.

Prorated Farmer Dave's CSA Shares Available

Farmer Dave's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Share Outs began on June 13 and will continue until October.  If you are looking for an easy way to increase your fruit and vegetable intake and support a local, sustainable farm, then visit Farmer Dave's CSA page to sign up and select Merrimack College as your pick up location.  Vegetable shares are available in small and large sizes and fruit shares are also available. The full season is 20 weeks, but you can sign up throughout the season. Contact Librarian C.J. Wong at McQuade if you are looking to share a share.  

McQuade's iPad Lending Program

In need of an iPad this Fall? McQuade Library has iPads available for check out at the Help Desk. You can request it by contacting librarian Gabby Womack ahead of time or simply walk in. Learn more about checking out an iPad here

Wong for celebrating 5 years with the Merrimack community, as well as Access Services Manager, Chris Condon, and Acquisitions and Serials Specialist, Chris Coflan for celebrating 15 years! Thanks for your dedication and all your hard work. The time you put in and the thoughts and ideas you bring to the table do not go unnoticed- we appreciate all that you do!

Librarians Present Poster at ACRL NE Annual Conference

Kathryn Geoffrion Scannell and Lyena Chavez contributed a poster at ACRL's 2018 New England Chapter Annual Conference held in Plymouth, Massachusetts in May.  The conference's theme was "Failing Forward: Experimentation and Creativity in Libraries." The poster entitled "Pivot, and Pivot Again: Ever-Nimble Library Leadership" highlighted examples of "pivoting" in response to space-re-purposing and evolving curricula, and showcased unexpected opportunities for collaboration. 

Lighting up the ERC

Paper Circuits are just some of the new S.T.E.M. resources recently added to the Education Resources Collection. Bella and Leelabiri, two delightful summer visitors, lit up the ERC with their creations!

New Overdrive Site and Libby App

Merrimack has a new Overdrive site which highlights Overdrive titles of specific interest to Merrimack. Merrimack users will have prioritization on holds for select titles purchased with McQuade funds, for titles such as Tattoos on the Heart and Betsy Myer's Take the Lead

Log into Overdrive with your library barcode on the back of your MACKcard. And use Overdrive's Libby - the new app for downloading ebooks.
