Information Literacy at Merrimack College

Modes of Instruction

Instruction takes place in many ways, using a variety of teaching methods, including:

  • Course-integrated library instruction sessions

  • In-person instruction in the Research Center, in librarians’ offices, and at other locations on campus

  • Reference services through email, phone, and instant message/texting

  • Individual research advisory appointments

  • Customized exercises/assignments and tailored research guides

  • Specialized workshops

  • Online tutorials

  • Faculty collaboration and consultation

Regardless of the method of delivery, McQuade librarians work with faculty to offer instruction that is tied to research assignments and that responds to students’ information needs.
