How to Cite Sources

Editorial Style Manual

IEEE (Institute of Electronical and Electronics Engineers) style is most commonly used to write papers and cite sources in Electrical Engineering.

In addition to the examples to the left, see these sections of the Editorial Style Manual for how to cite other sources in IEEE style:

  • Papers presented at confernces (pg. 9)
  • Patents (pg. 9 & 13)
  • Unpublished communications (pg. 10)
  • U.S. Government Documents (pg. 13)

For a more detailed explanation of how to use IEEE style, see the Editorial Style Manual.
