How to Submit to MSW

Adding Work to Merrimack ScholarWorks

What you do:

1.  Provide the Repository Administrator with a list of your publications.

  • Email a copy of your CV, a link to your personal website, or a link to your academia.edu or ResearchGate profile.
  • You can choose which of your publications will be included in Merrimack ScholarWorks. If you only want to include your most recent research, or only your peer-reviewed articles we are happy to accommodate your requests.

2.  Review the Terms of Participation and complete the online Contributor Agreement form: If you have any questions about the language of the form contact the repository administrator.

3.  Create a Digital Commons account (optional)This provides you with access to an Author Dashboard where you can review real-time download information, and global insights into the sources of readership.

  • This step is not required, but it provides you with more flexibility and control over reviewing your download information.
  • If you do not create a Digital Commons account, you will receive monthly download reports by email.

What we do:

1.  Review the copyright permissions for each publication on your list: To do this, we use SHERPA/RoMEO, Copyright Clearance Center, and the individual publisher's website.

  • In support of Open Access, we prefer to share the full text of your work, but this is not always possible. In these cases we can include a citation of your work, and provide members of the Merrimack Community with access points to retrieve any works that are available via our library resources.
  • Copyright among coauthors is non-exclusive, so permission need only be obtained from you to deposit the work.
  • We will not upload any works that are prohibited by publisher copyright agreements.

2.  Create the online structures to house and displays works from your department

  • Since Merrimack ScholarWorks is still relatively new, we are open to suggestions for the organization of works created by members of academic departments. Please contact the repository administrator if you would like to discuss departmental representation in Merrimack ScholarWorks.

3.  Upload your work to Merrimack ScholarWorks: We follow the bepress Digital Commons submission form, which creates the metadata and citation for each of your works. We then provide access to your work in the form of a PDF file, a link to your publisher, or a proxy-link for members of the Merrimack community.

  • We work to add as much metadata to your work as possible to make them more discoverable through search engines like Google. If you would like to discuss more ways to promote your individual work or the work of your department, please contact the repository administrator.
