Searching for books, ebooks, and DVDs

Merrimack College is the default search location- this will only show you what is available at McQuade.

Search other Libraries:

Select "NOBLE (All Libraries)" from the list of locations to see materials in other libraries

  • Use your library barcode number and library password to request available items from any of the NOBLE libraries. Items are sent directly to the McQuade Library.

Search for DVDs:

Change the format type to "DVD" to search for films

Search for Ebooks:

Change the format type to "E-book" to only view materials that are available digitally

  • Ebooks cannot be borrowed from other libraries, so make sure the ebook title you find has a green "Access for Merrimack College" link :

Find a book on the shelf

A call number is like an address for an item in the library. Every book and DVD in the library is assigned a unique call number.  After searching for a book in the catalog, be sure to note the location, call number and status of a book.

Electronic Books

You may come across some electronic books (e-books) when searching the catalog. Many of these electronic books are part of packages or individual subscriptions that the Library subscribes to, and require authentication when using them off campus.

  • ACLS Humanities E-Book
This electronic resource includes over 1700 full-text, cross-searchable books in the humanities selected by scholars for their continuing importance for research and teaching.
